Reit im Winkl is a popular stop on the journey along the German Alpine Road, "Deutsche Alpenstraße". The well-signposted, extraordinary road trip starts in Lindau on Lake Constance and ends in Schönau am Königssee. Those who stop on the German Alpine Road in Reit im Winkl often spend the evening in the Dark Sky Park on the Winklmoos-Alm or use the day for a hike in the Chiemgau Alps.

The German Alpine Road leads through the most famous and beautiful German Alpine locations, it is the oldest German holiday route.

484 km long, signposted in both directions, so you can also start at Lake Königssee and drive towards Lake Constance.
